The Jackson Taylor Band consists of Bill Nickerson on lead guitar and vocals, Bill’s son Jeff Nickerson on drums, Joe Fowler on Bass, and Tyler Kittle on saxophone. The blend of music that this group creates from their diverse musical backgrounds gives us anything from blues,jazz,country and old rock n roll.
Bill and Jeff have been playing together for 30 years. In the 80’s they were in the Rusty Barrel Band playing the country circuit every weekend at rodeos, festivals, battle of the Bands, as well as opening for Ray Stevens and Mel McDaniel. Bill is now living in Nashville focused on his songwriting, playing around the city, including songwriter gatherings at the Bluebird Café. Jeff and his family call Cashiers home.
Joe Fowler is a graduate of Western Carolina University school of music. As a student of music,Joe studied under Brad Ulrich and Eliot Wadopian. Joe has recorded bass on three albums, one of Indonesian music. Joe currently teaches music and directs It for Summit Charter school and performs with many local musical groups
Tyler Kittle performs with many local musicians in the area as well. Tyler also has his own group, the Tyler Kittle Band, which blends some of the areas best musicians creating a unique blend of soulful Jazz. Tyler is also a teacher and athletic coach at Summit Charter school.
